The National President of EHOAN, Sanitarian Samuel Akingbehin presenting the award to the council boss said, “HID had done so well in the area of environmental health care and services. Most importantly he had also given our Lagos State Chapter adequate support because if he had not been so cooperative, EHOAN Lagos will not be at this enviable stage”.
He continued, “our Lagos State Chapter President, Sanitarian Awonuga is the Chief Environmental Health Officer in his LCDA and I can tell you this, several times Awonuga speaks on television and radio on very important environmental issues, and if Hon. HID Tijani has never been supportive, that will also never had been possible”.
Sanitarian Akingbehin further implored government and stakeholders at all levels to take environmental health as a very serious responsibility so as to create a healthy environment for the people because prevention is better and way cheaper than cure. “Government must always to ensure round pegs are put in round holes for quality environmental health service to be delivered to the people and whatever you put in the environment is what it pushes back at you”, he said.
