Governor’s visit: Rotary Club Ajuwon donates books worth N2m to public library, plants trees, immunizes children, to donate kits to pregnant women
Rotary Club of Ajuwon hosted the District Governor (DG) of Rotary District 9110 Nigeria, Rotn. Adewale Ogunbadejo at the club’s usual meeting venue, Glass House in Olaniyi area of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Lagos on Saturday 9th December, 2017 where the Governor educated members on how to be an extra ordinary Rotarians and how gigantic good can be done worldwide through Rotary Foundation.
The District Governor’s visit is usually an annual event where The Governor himself commissions developmental projects of Rotary Clubs in the district that will be of benefits to their host communities and the nation as a whole, and to further check clubs’ performance and activities for the Rotary year.
At the event, The President of Rotary Club of Ajuwon, Rotn. Oladehinde Kofoworola made know that, the club had embarked on several developmental projects which has been of tremendous benefit to the people and will continue to do more.
“Today the club had planted trees and earlier this Rotary Year we donated relevant books worth Two Million Naira to Lagos State Public Library in Meiran, Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA in the month of October to encourage reading culture because our people do not read like before again. We have also immunized hundreds of children from 1day old to 5years against polio and we will be donating kits to pregnant women is our community again this December”, Rotn Kofoworola said.
“We will still do more and our administration could not have achieved so much without the supports and efforts of the club members and our partners, they have all been so wonderful and available, I say a big thank you to them all, Rotn. Kofoworola concluded.
Rotn. Adewale Ogunbadejo, DG for District 9110 Nigeria which comprises of Lagos and Ogun State has urged the presidents and members to do more and tap into all other resources available so has to continue to do good in the whole wide world.
The DG, Rotn. Adewale Ogunbadejo told GOVTOROS that, “over 1000 people has joined Rotary in the new Rotary year which commenced in July this year and people are now aware of who we are and what we do as Rotarians. To I am privileged to induct two new members into Rotary, Rotn. Amoorin and Rotn. Adesanya and I am calling on well meaning Nigerians who are ready to help others selflessly to come and join us”, DG. Ogunbadejo said
“I urge all Nigerians to continue to do good and be our brothers keeper. Rotarians are good people and all we do is making life worth living for all and that we do with our resources because that’s who we are. We do good all over the word”, DG. Ogunbadejo concluded.
