Moshood Abiola Poly upgrades to University


The Executive Secretary of National University Commission, Prof. Abubaka Rasheed has given an approval letter granting the Ogun State Government to upgrade Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta to Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology.


The Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Senator Ibikunle Amosun who received the letter in Abuja at the NUC headquarters also received a nod for ensuring quality education in the state and it is worthy to note that from July 3rd, 2017, MAPOLY will now been recognized as a university.



Governor Amosun in his responds said, since the Polytechnic is being upgraded to University of Science and Technology and because the state will not like Polytechnic education to go into extinction in Ogun, the Polytechnic will now be relocated to Ipokia.


Prof. Rasheed on the other hand said the upgrade indicates that, Ogun State now has three Universities as Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology will be the third University in the state and the 45th State University, and that shows the level of government’s commitment to the education her people.
