Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board denounced an account on social media that claim to upgrade JAMB scores for candidates. The Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede made it know that every scores obtained by candidates are true reflections of their performance during the 2017 Unified Tertiary matriculation Examination (UTME) and the board would never do so for any candidate with such request.
Prof. Is-haq in his statement which was duely signed by the Head of Information for JAMB, Mr. Benjamin Fabian said, the Facebook account that claimed to upgrade scores of the 2017 UTME for candidate is nothing but a Facebook scam as none of his board members or staffs will ever do such and has warned the entire public to desist from such fraudulent act.
He further said that, “the fake information in circulation was ostensibly signed by the JAMB Registrar with mobile numbers that never belongs to the board. The statement is nothing but a facebook scam”. “The board wishes to state unequivocally that the statement was not from JAMB, the Registrar, Oloyede, or any of its offices nor has he authorized any persons or group to post such an inglorious request and statement”, and candidates should be careful in all their dealings as regards their admission process.
It is imperative for candidates to know that high grades or scores is just one of the criteria to securing admission considering the modus operandi of tertiary institutions in Nigeria and there are other measures besides from UTME scores to securing admission.
