Chair of the Council, Hon.Fatiu Jimoh Salisu promises maximum support and cooperation
Lagos State Independent Electoral Committee (LASIEC Team) Lead appreciates Ijede LCDA Team for the massive Projects and befitting LASIEC Office within the Council.
The doubts and insinuations around the next Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas Election in Lagos State was laid to rest as the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) visited Ijede LCDA Secretariat and stated categorically that the next LGs/LCDAs Election in Lagos State will hold in 2021.
This automatically puts a halt to unfounded rumours being milled around the State on Subject and invariably calm the nerves of all Political Officeholders to focus on delivering on their mandate of good governance to their respective electorates.
Speaking on behalf of the LASIEC Chairman, Hon. Justice Phillips, the Team lead, Dr Bunmi Omoseyinde firstly emphasized that the essence of their visit is to ascertain the readiness of Ijede LCDA ahead of the 2021 Local Government Election and inspect their Local Office within the LCDA to evaluate its comfortability and conduciveness for the Herculean task ahead.
Without mincing words, Ijede LCDA is fully prepared and ready for the next election, he stated, based on their assessment of the Local LASIEC Office and other parameters. He also utilised the opportunity to eulogise the Council Chairman and his team for the massive turnaround projects going on within the Council Secretariat, opines that, indeed and in truth, the team has delivered on its electoral promises to a convincing extent, he, therefore, used the opportunity to present some relevant publication and souvenirs to the Council Chairman and his Team.
The arrow head of the Council, Hon. Fatiu Jimoh Salisu appreciated the LASIEC Team for the visit, relevant clarifications and encomium showered on his team, He thus promised his maximum support and cooperation to the Commission, especially as he believed in her capacity and competency to deliver a free, fair and credible Local Government Election in 2021 as it has been doing in the past.
He also intimated the LASIEC Team on the need to correct the anomaly always encountered during the election in Ijede LCDA as a result of improper delineation of Wards, whereby votes cast in Oju-Ogun, a polling unit within Ward B is always counted and recorded for Ward A. On this, the LASIEC Team acknowledged the issue and promised to amend the anomaly as soon as possible.
Accompanied the LASIEC Chairman, represented by Commissioner(Dr)Bunmi Omoseyinde to Ijede LCDA were, Commissioner (Olori) Sekinat Famakinwa, Mr Fasu Ayedun, Prof.Gabriel Babawale, Dr Lawal, Mrs Sekinat Fadipe alongside other top shots from the Commission.
While on the side of the LCDA, the Council Chairman, Hon. Fatiu Jimoh Salisu, the Vice-Chairman, Mrs Adijat Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, the SLG Mr.Kunle Olambiwoninu and other Executive Cabinet Members, the Management Staff ably led by the Head of Administration Mrs. Sonate Adebanji and the NULGE Chairman, Mr Abdulfatai Alagbe were all in attendance to honour the LASIEC Team.
