365days in office: Ipaye launches GARRI IWA, testimony of youth empowerment programme
The Sole Administrator of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. Dr. Waleeh Adeleke Ipaye on Tuesday June 13 2017, marks 365days in office at the council secretariat in Ijaiye Ojokoro area of Lagos State.
The event witnessed several dignitaries and stakeholders of the LCDA where Dr. Ipaye appreciated His Excellency, Governor. Akinwunmi Ambode for the unflinching supports enjoyed by the council which has made him achieved so much in improving the lives of the good people of Ojokoro.
He further gave an account of stewardship and said, “several roads across the seven political wards in the Local Council Development Area were graded in order to make them more motorable and ease vehicular movement, the Council’s Secretariat Complex was given a complete facelift, members of staff of the Council were also motivated with the provision of working tools and payment of bonus during festive periods, free General Certificate of Education (GCE) examination forms were given to some indigent students, while funds were also given to some public primary schools for the renovation of dilapidated facilities in these schools among others.

Dr. Adeleke took time to explain the reasons his administration embarked and invested on youth empowerment which is to provide a self sufficient crop of citizen for the community. The testimony of the empowerment scheme is GARRI IWA, which was launched to commemorate the 365days in office. “I am glad to inform you today that the empowerment programme has yielded a positive result, as some of the youths trained in garri processing will use this occasion to present their product which is tagged “GARRI IWA. I wish to assure you that these trained youths will be adequately motivated and encouraged for the processing of their product in commercial quantity, in order to create more jobs and also compliment the Lagos State Government’s “LAKE RICE” project”.
Still counting his achievements, the road leading to the council has been renamed after an astute politician, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his symbol has also been erected at entrance of the council in appreciation of his contributions towards the sustenance of democracy in Nigeria.
