No fewer than 15 persons were murdered in cold blood as bandits attacked Adara village, 64 km away from Kaduna metropolis on in the Kaduna-Kachia road.
The bandits who were suspected to be Fulani herdsmen attacked the village and killed 15 persons in Gonan-Rogo village, in the Kufana District of Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Tuesday.
According to the President of Adara Development Association, Mr Awema Maisamari who further confirmed the incident said the bandits invaded the village at midnight about 1am on Tuesday, killing the residents.
Twelve bodies were found on the spot while other corpses were recovered from the bush. Other persons sustained gunshot and machete injuries while some houses were set ablaze.
“This has made many of the village members run into the bush for safety while others are yet to be found”, he said.
“They (the bandits) invaded the community about 1.00am on Tuesday. Twelve people were killed on the spot. Other corpses were recovered from the bush. There are those who sustained injuries. Some houses were razed while some who escaped into the bush are still missing.”
The State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP. Mohammed Jalige further urged residence to keep calm as security operatives are already on top of the situation. He further intimates newsmen again about the mishap that has claimed several lives and properties.
“On 12/05/2020 at about 0120hrs, the Command received a distress call through DPO Kajuru that a group of armed men in a large number on motorbikes invaded Gonar Rogo a remote village in Kufana district Kajuru LGA”, he said.
“The attackers started shooting sporadically, attacking the villagers and in the process shot and killed 15 persons and injured five others while many ran into the busy for safety.
