On Thursday, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Uche Secondus during a media briefing on Thursday at the National Headquarters of the PDP said the continued silence of the President Muhammadu Buhari, in the face of the killings of armless and innocent citizens, and the ensuing violence was no longer golden.
The PDP National Chairman said “the President has so far kept mum” amidst this crisis.
He said it is sad that the President who has the responsibility of providing leadership in times of crisis has exhibited a lack of capacity.
Noting that, more than ever before, Nigeria wants to hear the President speak to them.
“Mr President please speak to Nigerians, speak to your children”, he said.
Reports have it that the #ENDSARS, #Endpolicebrutality has been hijacked by hoodlums ith widespread of violence and arson in major cities of the country like Lagos, Abuja, Akure, Osogbo, Jos, Ibadan, Benin, amongst others in the past few days.
Thugs had hijacked the #EndSARS protests against police brutality and extrajudicial killings earlier in the week causing pandemonium in several parts of the country.
Several banks, shopping malls, car marts, government buildings, police stations, and private establishments have been burnt.
In the same vein, the National Assembly leadership had also urged the President to address the nation amidst the growing unrest in several states
