Community Development:HID embarks on tour of projects.

The role of the government of any given state is to provide basic amenities to the citizens, thus the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani has began inspection on roads and drainage construction projects at the LCDA. Amongst the sites visited where massive road construction is ongoing is Mofolasayo Drive at Fagba area of the LCDA.
The road which is a utility road provides entry and exit into Abattoir Market; the most popular and most patronised market most especially for beef and cow merchants. Speaking with newsmen, the Council Engineer, Engr. Femi . Joseph explained that presently the roads is being escalated to remove debris and other earth surface of about 12mm that could mar the construction,noting that such process will give room for excellent and quality road network for the road users.
The Executive Chairman, Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani (HID) during the tour assured the constituents that he will not rest on his hoax until the entire community enjoys the goodies of governance. He said, “this is one of our campaign promises to our people and we are keeping to our words, this particular road network after completion will ease vehicular movement in this part of the market and it will increase the trade and economic development of the LCDA”, he said.
Hon. Segun Adeniji, the councillor representing Ward A, gave kudos to the council boss for the prompt response accorded to the yearnings of his constituency. ” I am happy this road is receiving government attention and this will bring about great relief to my people and our business will be more viable now that this road is being put to order.
In another development, the tour further moved to Olubiyi Fayinto Street where a long stretch of dual drainage system is being constructed to forestall flooding and other crisis during heavy down pour. The council boss who is happy with the quality of the ongoing work seized the medium to appreciate the stakeholders of the community for their cooperation with the contractor and government stressing that community development usually comes with a price.
Furthermore, the team moved to Akinde Estate at Ajegunle Ilo where another set of drainage system and road construction are ongoing. According to reports, the road which is also a link road to Segun Akinyemi street will serve multipurpose functions for the people,as it is a link to the boundary of Lagos and Ogun,the opening of the road after completion will further brings growth and development in those areas and increase the value of properties and standard of living in that part of the LCDA.
The residents, however urged the contractors to speed up on the execution of these projects as they are all looking forward to enjoying another better jolly ride on good road network within the LCDA.
