CORONAVIRUS: WE WILL OVERCOME IT, BUT UNLAWFUL ACTS CAN ONLY DO MORE DAMAGE -AFONJA

…Applauds Gov. Sanwo-Olu’s Proactive Leadership

The National Leader of Bola Tinubu Ambassadors and Convener of the annual Bola Tinubu Youth Summit, Akanbi A. Saheed Afonja condemns unlawful acts in the quest of curbing COVID’19.

This was revealed In a statement released this morning, Sunday 29th March, 2020 through his Media office, Akanbi said that, according to the World Health Organization (WHO) “Corona viruses are a large family of viruses that are known to cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).” As at March 28 2020 record has it that 629,910 people have been infected with the virus across the world with 28,973 death recorded and 138,089 people have so far recovered.

He said constant awareness on the pandemic from appropriate quarters is not in an attempt to send fear down to people’s spine. But rather to enlighten the populace on what can be done to collectively curtail the menace.

“In times like this, unlawful acts can only do more damage, the only way to triumph is through self discipline, strict adherence to higher authorities and professional advise on how to prevent its spread.” Afonja emphasized.

I however applaud our Lagos State Governor, HE. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his foresight and proactiveness and I must state that his effectiveness has been more than a saving grace in the face of this pandemic. Indeed we have a Governor whose major priority is the people’s well-being.

We are all in this together, these are indeed trying times but we will surely surmount this global hassle which is even deeply rooted in paradise countries. I implore people to be calm, stay safe and pray steadfastly to the Almighty to see us through this fickle phase of human existence.

Self isolation is recommended for those that had travel in recent times, don’t hesitate to contact the health authorities if you or anyone around show any of the symptoms. It never a death sentence nor the end of the world.

Don’t forget to keep social distance and stay indoor. This is in accordance with the holy books Quran and Bible; “Go my people enter your rooms and shut the door behind you, hide yourselves for a little while, until his wrath has passed by. And one of Prophet sayings (Hadith) “that whoever have a serious illness should not move from one country, state to another, instead stay indoor in order to prevent others from contacting it”.

This isn’t a world war that greed might delay it end, neither is it a cold war that ego will enlogate it axing. It is a virus moved around by humans and will stop spreading as soon as the carriers stop moving it.
