He humorously said further that, “ what is happening across the world is strange especially in our dear country Nigeria where everybody is wearing face masks like a masquerade. This is alien to our social lives but despite the inconvenience and challenges caused by the pandemic. We still have to be grateful to God for the minimal impact, set back and casualties in our country compared to other nations of the world”.

Mengua said though the gift may not be enough but since it came from the heart of the Corp members, It should be received with joy despite their meagre resources via allowance.

The Council helmsman profoundly and sincerely appreciated the State NYSC Chapter Coordinator and his team for their kindhearted gifts. He opined that, COVID-19 pandemic has rubbished technology, Medicine and Science as we speak but that we owe God special thanks for his mercies, hence many did not even wake up this morning.

He further said, “when the state coordinator called to inform him of the initiative, he was taken aback because of the meagre resources but this time calls for personal sacrifices in supporting the less privileged, vulnerable and the needy in our society. He prayed to God to be kind to Lagos State NYSC, Ifako-Ijaiye Council Chapter for their unprecedented kind gesture and sacrifices.
