COVID19: Ten Governor’s aide test positive in statehouse

Not fewer than ten persons have tested positive to COVID-19 pandemic at the Lagos Statehouse in Marina.

Professor Akin Abayomi, the Lagos State Commissioner for Health revealed this through his Twitter handle on Thursday that Ten persons associated with the statehouse in Marina have tested positive for COVID-19.

He further made known that the Incident Commander, Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwoolu and his wife, First Lady of Lagos, Joke Sanwoolu has again tested negative for the third consecutive time recently.

Affirming the authenticity of the report and with the tweet on his verified Twitter handle when he broke the news.

“However, 10 persons associated with Lagos State House in Marina have tested positive to COVID-19”.

Professor Akin Abayomi urged entire Lagosians and Nigeria by extension to ensure and continue to observe the precautionary measures of the government such as physical distancing, hand washing and other personal hygiene so as to contain the spread of the pandemic.

He therefore, enjoined Lagosians to key into the agenda of the state government towards a pandemic free megacity and seeks all and sundry to embrace the #MaskUpLagos initiative.

“I, therefore, implore you all to continue to embrace the #MaskUpLagos initiative and observe all precautionary measures such as physical distancing, hand washing and other personal hygiene.


He noted that all the directives, approach and measures adopted by the state is intact and remains enforced.

“All directives on easing lockdown in Lagos State remain in force. It is our collective responsibility to do all we can to stop the spread of the pandemic”.
