COVID19 VACCINE: We have the capacity to vaccinate Nigerians – FG

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) has said it is ready and committed to ensuring Nigerians get vaccinated when the COVID19 Vaccines arrives in Nigeria.

The Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Faisal Shuaib made this known at the early hours on Wednesday through NPHCDA’s verified Twitter handle.

Noting that all the machinery that was adopted in the polio vaccination will be used to ensuring that everyone gets the vaccine. Not forgetting the religious leaders and opinion leaders who will help in the propagation of the messages of the Ministry of Health.

“We are going to be relying heavily on all the efforts that led us to eradicate Polio in Nigeria. We will be engaging traditional & religious leaders and community-based organizations to ensure everyone in communities get vaccinated”, he said.

Being so optimistic, Shuaib further said that the personnel at the ministry are more than experienced in vaccination and executing the assignment will always be easy and comfortably executed.

Brief Profile of Faisal Shuaib 
Faisal Shuaib is a Nigerian medical doctor and public health specialist. He serves as the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Health (Nigeria).

Before his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari in January 2017, he was a Senior Programme Officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in Seattle, USA.

Shuaib served as the Incident Manager/Head of the Nigeria Ebola Emergency Operation Center during the July – October 2014 outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease. In addition to serving as a Senior Technical Advisor to the Minister of State for Health on Immunization and Polio Eradication, he was also the Chief Operations Officer/Deputy Incident Manager of the National Polio Emergency Operation Centre.
