Femi Fani Kayode refute Police’s stand on Sunday Igboho’s arrest, names him hero

David Oluwafemi Adewunmi Abdulateef Fani-Kayode popularly known as FFK has described Chief Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho as the hero of millions of Nigerians especially the Yoruba race.

It is a known fact that there had been series of insecurity crisis in Nigeria for years and the Federal Government has continued to go all out to put an end to the issue but the best of the government at the centre is not enough.

It will be recorded that Sunday Igboho in his effort to put an end to some of the banditry kidnapping and other ills by the Fulani herdsmen and other terror group invaded the Igangan Village in Oyo state to evacuate the Fulanis who were the occupants of the settlement.

These set of people has been suspected and reported to have been the agent of unrest in the community and the surrounding cities.

Igboho’s action has raised a lot of dust from several quarters while many also pitched their tents with the Yoruba hero.

On Friday 26th February 2021 a video went viral online where security operatives were seen around Sunday Igboho in an attempt to get him arrested as he has been earlier billed for arrest by the Nigerian Police Force.

Although the Police have denied any attempt to arrest Igboho.

Femi Fani-Kayode twitted his conversation with Chief Sunday Adeyemo which has strategically confirmed that the police tried to put Igboho in their net.

Femi Fanikayode’s Tweet:

“I just spoke to my brother Sunday Igboho. He told me there was a violent attempt to arrest him this afternoon by a joint team of soldiers, DSS operatives & policemen numbering about 40 on the Ibadan/Lagos Expressway whilst he was on his way to see Baba Ayo Adebanjo in Lagos”.

“I condemn this attempt to ambush& abduct him. It is not only reckless but also very dangerous. If the security agencies want to see him all they need to do is to invite him to their office. I am not aware of any crime that he has committed & I urge restraint on all sides”.

“Let me also send a warning to the FG that Sunday Igboho is a hero to millions of Yorubas & either killing him or detaining him unlawfully would be the biggest mistake they could make. Building bridges, dialogue & peace is better than violence & war. A word is enough for the wise”.
