Flood: Government finds solution, plans succour for victims

Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani (HID); the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has reiterated his commitment to ensuring citizens and residence of the LCDA lives in peace and harmony. He made this statement during the inspection of flood affected areas and flood prone areas in the council. He inspection visit which comprises of men of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) highlighted affected areas and took coordinates of the area for further workings to forestall such occurrence and prevent prone areas.
The council boss reported several residence and citizens had lost properties and goods worth millions to flood and heavy down pour in these areas and seek federal government and state intervention for the people to be able to live in peace. The team visited the popular Obadayi area, Owolabi Street among others.
HID Tijani who already presented a comprehensive report to NEMA at the early morning meeting held between parties where details of ecological affected areas was given across the seven wards of the LCDA.
The leader of NEMA team Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye commended the council boss on the report as that will aid the job of NEMA as it already captured areas affected and further requested the council present all the names of residence and citizen affected as that will help the federal government to made adequate plan for the citizenry.
Mr. Kunle Orobiyi who led the LASEMA team made known that the state will continue to contact the council for further information at when needed.
Also present through out the visit are the executives, legislatures and management of the council.
