Hon. Mrs. Omobola R. Essien, the Executive Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government sent her heart to world leaders, families across the globe, Nigerian most especially Lagosians and everyone who has lost their loved ones to COVID-19.
Speaking on Wednesday, she described the present state of the world as a very difficult phase in the human race seeing the damage the global pandemic has caused nations of the world including Nigeria and Lagos especially.
‘‘This year for all of us, has been a different chapter in our lives, the global pandemic (COVID-19) came at an unprecedented time and brought sadness and anxiety. The novel coronavirus, COVID-19 is casting a shadow around the world, without exempting anyone’’, Hon. Mrs. Omobola said.
‘‘Today, I send my deepest condolences to those who have lost their loved ones globally and my best wishes to all who have been affected. I hope this trying time will provide a welcome break to relax and spend time with our dearest families, enjoy the beauty of the changing seasons, and to remember and humanity’’, she said.
While welcoming the entire Lagos Mainlander to the new month, Hon. Mrs. Omobola R. Essien expressed her goodwill for the constituents and assures all and sundry of light at the end of the tunnel.
Hon. Mrs. Omobola continues to urge them to continue to keep hope alive as tough time does not last but tough people do.
‘‘The month of April is here. As you mark its arrival with hope, prayers, faith and belief in the Almighty, I hope you will find a shared sense of friendship and harmony with nature. We shall overcome’’, she concluded.
