INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY SYMPOSIUM 2020: SAMOLA REVELS IN BADAGRY YOUTH DISPLAY OF SYNERGY.

As part of activities to commemorate the International Youth Day (IYD 2020), Olorunda, Badagry Central and Badagry-West LCDA Chapters of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) yesterday, Wednesday 12th August 2020 held a joint Symposium at Mato Hall, FAMS Embassy Suites, Ibereko, Olorunda LCDA.

The symposium adopted the global theme for this year’s anniversary, “Youth Engagement for Global Action” and had a host of reputable figures as guest speakers such as Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende (Pioneer, RAK Foundation), Dr. M. A Whetode (Director, Administrative Staff College of Nigeria) and Asst. Corps Commander B.S Agbaje (Federal Road Safety Commission).

Impressed by the synergy and camaraderie on display among youth across the Badagry federation in the days leading to the symposium, The Executive Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Samson Folorunso Olatunde (SAMOLA) who was unavoidably absent and represented by the Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture, Olorunda LCDA, Hon. Ashade Wahab expressed absolute delight.

“We didn’t have things (synergy or platforms) like this before now. Something is changing for good and I want us to keep it up. We want Badagry youth to become the best in the world”

Speaking further, Hon. Ashade Wahab congratulated youth of the Badagry Federation and promised the gathering that in the years to follow, more should be expected from Hon. Samson Folorunso Olatunde in the area of youth engagement and support for progressive youth programs.

Other notable attendees were Hon. Akojenu, Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture, Badagry Central (Representing the LG Chairman, Hon. Onilude), Hon. Sessi Ogungbe, Supervisory Councillor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Badagry-West LCDA (Representing Hon. Gbenu, Chairman Badagry-West LCDA), Hon. Nurat Zubair Olayinka (Supervisory Councillor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Olorunda LCDA), as well as NYCN Executives across the Badagry Federation.
