Jos Bye Election: Solomon Lalong restricts movement in Jos


As outlined by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct the bye-election for the Jos/Bassa Federal Constituency and the Pankshin South State Constituency on 26th February 2022 to this end, the Executive Governor of Plateau State Simon Lalong has approved the restriction of movement within these constituencies.

No vehicular movements will be allowed within the affected areas from 12 midnight on Friday, February 25, 2022, to 6 pm on Saturday, February 26, 2022.

However, exceptional cases had been provided for and only persons on essential duties will be exempted from the restriction. Constituent members had been advised to adhere to this directive as relevant security agencies have been directed to ensure compliance.

The Governor further calls on all eligible voters to come out and exercise their franchise without fear or intimidation as necessary security arrangements have been put in place to ensure that the exercise goes without hitches.
