Lagos jail staff for mobile theft


Lagos State Mobile Court sentenced an officer of the State Task Force to 365days imprisonment for a one-count theft charge. The accused Moses Prince stole a Techno Phantom 6 mobile phone from Mr. Kinsgsley a pastor of Christ Chuch in Fadeyi area of Lagos.


The Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force, SP Egbeyemi made it known that Moses is one of the paramilitary office from Man O War deployed to the agency in October 2016 but  stole a phone worth N150,000 while on duty at Ekero Street in Fadeyi.

Egbeyemi said, an enforcement operation was carried out to further the arrest of hoodlums and miscreants at the resent bloody clash in Idi-Oro and its unfortunate that Moses had to steal at the operational scene.


Furthermore, Egbeyemi made known that the agency had organized series of trainings, lectures and seminars to shun social ills and criminalities in other for them to function optimally and qualitative discharge of duties.


Magistrate Owolabi said the accused stealing while discharging lawful duty with Lagos State Task Force agency is a crime and divergent to Section 258 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State and the one year jail term was meant to serve as deterrent to other public servants to desist from every form of criminal activities.
