Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government Administration were in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area on Monday,1st March, 2021 on a one day working visit, as part of the lawmakers’ oversight legislative duties.
The Committee, led by its Chairman, Hon. Olawale Abdul-Subair Olayiwola, commended the Council’s Chairman, Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani (H.I.D) on his administration’s developmental projects in the LCDA.
“We are here to oversee what you are doing in your local government, as part of our oversight functions and we will report back to the House on our findings, he said”
He said that the Committee had visited other local government areas within its jurisdiction and feel satisfied with the report recieved from the Ojokoro LCDA boss.
He however enjoined the Council Chairman to provide a more conducive chamber for the Council’s lawmakers to enable them perform their legislative duties more efficiently and effectively.
Earlier, while welcoming the Committee members to Ojokoro LCDA, Hon. Hammed Tijani praised them for doing a great job with their visit to the LCDA, saying this will afford them the opportunity to see what his administration has been doing and other areas that requires the state government’s attention.
Also, the leader of the Council’s legislative House, Hon. Kolawole Osho described the relationship between the Council’s Executive and the Legislature as very cordial.
The Committee took time to inspect one of the recently completed road project by the Hon. Tijani’s administration at Ogunmola Alara Street in the LCDA.
Other members of the Committee on the visit are Hon. Rauf Olawale, Hon. Kehinde Joseph, Hon. Nureni Akinsanya and Hon.(TPL) Rasheed Lanre Makinde; member representing Ifako-ijaiye State Constituency 02, (Ojokoro) in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The Committee were also accompanied on the visit by some officials of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Members of the Council’s Executive Committee, Legislators and the Management team, led by the Council Manager, Mr. Adeyemi Adebola, were present during the visit.
