Makinde gets nodes at stakeholders meeting, assures members better representation

Lagos State House of Assembly Member representing Ifako-Ijaiye 02, Hon. Rasheed Makinde has received accolades from members of his constituency in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area of Lagos for being prudent in the Covid19 palliative distribution against those who have decided to keep it in stores or use for another purpose.

At the constituency stakeholders meeting held simultaneously in Lagos by the 40 members of the state assembly where Hon. Rasheed Makinde meets with constituents to discuss the way forward and other pressing issues affecting the constituents.

At the event, the youths of the LCDA through their representative Comrade Olaniyi Ilori has called on the government to develop the youth and not all the regular mini empowerment that may not improve the lifestyle of the beneficiaries.

“We do not want all these N10,000 and N20,000 empowerment that has no impact on the lives of the youth. The government needs to develop the youths and get them engaged”, he said.

In another development, the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro LCDA, Hon. Hammed Idowu Tijani has also said that government is doing everything possible to compensate those who suffered losses at the communal clash in Fagba.

Hon. Rasheed Makinde has further assured constituents members that all the items and prayers of the constituency members will be presented to the government and parts of the discussion will assist the government in the 2021 budget.

“This stakeholder meeting allows us to get the pressing demand of the people from them directly and it will help me in my legislative functions as this will be compiled and forwarded to the house for consideration”, he said.

He further used the opportunity to commensurate with the constituents, Lagosians, Nigerians, Nigerian Police Force and other security personnel, public and private sectors who had suffered one loss or the other to the aftermath of the #Endsars protest.

“My heart is with those that we’re affect by this #ENDSARS protest. May the souls of the departed across board rest in peace. To those that lost their livelihood, God will open doors of opportunities to you all”, he concluded. The
