The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development have said that enrolment of the third batch of N-Power beneficiaries on Friday 26th June.
The ministry said its decision to enrol more people into the scheme is necessary due to consultations and the submission on the programme reform for effective efficiency.
The ministry also said this is in furtherance with President Muhammadu Buhari’s Agenda of lifting 100million Nigeria out of poverty line.
The ministry speaking with newsmen revealed that all applicants will have to supply there Bank Verification Number (BVN) during registration so as to ensure transparency in the selection process.
“As part of the Ministry’s reforms to make the programme more efficient, all applicants must supply their Bank Verification Number (BVN) in their application to ensure a streamlined and transparent selection process.”
The ministry further explained that once applications are submitted, it will review submissions and publish a list of successful applicants.
According to the ministry, comprehensive details for the new batch will be announced in the coming weeks. Noting that past beneficiaries are not eligible.
The N-Power Programme was inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2016 under the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) with the mandate of lifting citizens out of poverty through capacity building, investment, and direct support.
The programme has enrolled 500,000 beneficiaries so far with 200,000 from Batch A which started in September 2016 and 300,000 from Batch B which kicked off in August 2018.
The ministry further revealed that the new intake for N-Power will be a new set of Nigerians who were never part of the previous streams of the programme as those beneficiaries in Batch A and B will not be eligible to apply again.
Nigerians are further advised to be on the lookout for the free registration into the scheme and it is imperative to note that nobody from the ministry will request money from an applicant in any form.
