FG commends Nigeria Media on COVID19 fight federal government has commended the Nigerian Media in the pandemic fight

The Minister for Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has commended the Nigeria media and newsmen for the role they played and are playing in the pandemic fight in the country and beyond.

Speaking at the PresidentialTask Force on COVID-19 Press Briefing in Abuja, the minister commended the role played by the Nigeria media and most especially the Nigerian journalists.  Saying these sets of Nigerians defile the danger and going all out to ensure that the nation is reliably informed.

According to the federal government, what is in the pages of the Nigeria media and other medium goes a long way in sensitizing the public. “It is very important for the people to know how to protect themselves and loved ones from this dreaded pandemic. I must commend the media for putting the right information on the front burner”, he said.

Lai Mohammed further urged the press to keep up the good work and further spread safety measures to the people especially in the new approach of the government on the lockdown.  Noting that the government already emphisaged that Nigerians will go against the rules of the relaxed lockdown and the Nigeria media has a lot of roles to play.

While assuring the people of the government measures to ensuring precautionary adherence by the people, he again seeks quality reportage from the pressmen.

“We urge you  and all Nigeria media to keep the good work you are doing in the reportage of the pandemic”
