Ojokoro Council Boss gets LAWMA nods for cleaner environment

…as the council boss makes more move for sustainable cleaner environment

The Lagos State Waste Management Agency (LAWMA) has commended Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani (HID) for his commitment towards a clean and dirt-free environment in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area.

The commendation was made during the inspection tour round Local Governments, Ojokoro LCDA in particular to see the status of the environment at the grassroots.

Mr Akinniyi Peter, the Head Quality Control, West District LAWMA while speaking at the meeting commended Hon. HID Tijani for ensuring Ojokoro LCDA is clean and free of environmental challenges most especially black spots. Noting that there were no black spots as found in other places earlier visited.

Mr. Akinniyi commended the chairman and his entire team for having Zero tolerance for unhealthy environment and urged him to keep up with the beautiful pace.

The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani in his response requested for Waste Bins in facilitating duties of the highway managers within the council as it will become so handy in discharging their duties efficiently.

He appreciated the team for their support and encouragement adding that his mandate is purely Service to humanity, stressing that a filthy environment will bring about several health hazards and that we do not want for our people, Hon. HID Tijani said.

I will appreciate it if LAWMA can make waste bins available for our highway manager as this will create a conducive and better working conditions for them. If this can be done, then our people will be so fine, he concluded.

Also present at the meeting were Regional Manager PSP Domestic Waste 1, Mr. Mustapha Kazeem, the Supervisor for Envirounment, Hon. Florence Lawal and the Head of Envirounmental Health Department, San. Awonuga Taiwo.
