OJOKORO NULGE ELECTIONS: COUNCIL BOSS CALLS FOR PEACE
The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani (HID) has met with the leading candidates of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Ojokoro chapter and has called for peace from the two factions of in the LCDA.
The council boss who called a stakeholder’s meeting where the Executive, Management and the Legislative teams met with the chairmanship aspirants of The United Congress (UC), Comrade Gbadamosi Olubunmi Kazeem and the incumbent chairman of the chapter, Comrade Wale Aremu Akintonde who is seeking a return ticket as the chairman of the Union.
The Head of Administration Engineer Tajudeen Afolabi urged all aspirants from both groups to desist from campaign of calumny,r rather,they should convince the staff by reeling out the Various laudable programme and welfare packages that awaits them if elected to serve.
The Executives Chairman, Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani urged the Union members and all the contestants to toll the line of peace as there is nothing to gain in violence.
In his words, “vote not fight, please I want us all to conduct ourselves in a civil and peaceful manner as we will not leave any stone unturned if anything goes wrong”, he said.
“I need to say it here that we are not apolitical nor supports any candidate and I want you all to go back home and speak to your followers, and ensure that come October 8th, the LCDA will hold a successful and peaceful NULGE election.
