Osinbajo signs 2017 budget, says its error free


On Monday June 12 2017, at about 17:00hr Nigeria time, Ag. President Yemi Osinbajo signed the 2017 appropriation bill into law and present were top  officials of the federal government and amidst them were the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari; other top government officials and Ministers.


This was as a result of President Muhammadu Buhari’s directives in his letter to the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, asking Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, to sign the 2017 Appropriation Bill into law in the interest of Nigeria’s economy.

Prof. Osinbajo made it known during the signing of the N7.44tn budget that it’s a landmark towards the realization of developmental policies and programs of President Muhammadu Buhari. He further said, “I am confident that the 2017 Budget will deliver positive economic growth and prosperity, one that is self-sustaining and inclusive. In this regard, the 2017 budget will be implemented in line with our Economic Recovery and Growth Plan” and procedure of putting the budget in place had been better than previous as it’s devoid of errors.
