Police gets new operational vehicles as constituents gets 100,000 each as empowerment support


In a bid to beef up the security architecture in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani (HID) has given out four operational vehicles to all the divisional Police Officers in his domain.

This is coming under 24hours after the Inspector General of Police ban the operations of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and other tactical police operative due to several negative reports from the people.

The council boss who earlier held a closed-door meeting with all security operatives in the LCDA to see to their challenges and how the council can be of help, proffers solutions and for the council to continue to remain peaceful as it has been.

Speaking at the event, the council boss appreciated the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu for ensuring the police in the state are well equipped and noting that; this is what inspired the council to toll the line of the governor and ensuring all the Nigerian Police Division in the LCDA gets operational vehicles to facilitate effective policing.

ACP Ibrahim Zungura, the Area Commander for Area G Police Command whose Police Divisions were beneficiaries of the kind gesture from the LCDA appreciated the council and advised the Divisional Police Officers on the judicious use of the operational vehicles.

“We have never received such a wonderful gift like this in the history of Nigerian Police Force as far as Lagos State Local Government is concerned. I am not a politician and I will never be. For this kind gift, I associate myself with the leadership of this council and everybody who have contributed to the success of this event”, Zungura said.

Ijaiye Ojokoro, Abbatoir, Alakuko and Oko Oba Police Divisional Officers all benefited from this kind gesture as they all go home with their branded operation vehicles.

At the event, cash empowerment was also given to constituency members to cushion the effect of the COVID19 pandemic on their business and trade as fifty people in the LCDA smiled home with the sum of one hundred thousand naira each.

The council boss used the medium to advise all the beneficiaries of the cash gift to use it judiciously to better their lives and expand their various businesses
