Rotaract gives books to pupils, to donate research materials to library


Rotaract Club of Alagbado District 9110, Nigeria, a youth wing of Rotary on Wednesday 18th October, 2017 donated books to pupils of New Era Foundation in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area in a bid to complement the effort of the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani who in the last few weeks has donated exercise books and writing materials to pupils of public primary schools in Ojokoro community.


The President of the Club, Rotaractor Mustopha Olajumoke Rahbiat (PHF) who spoke to GOVTOROS made known that, the club is an humanitarian service club and the project being embarked upon is not the first and will never be the last New Era Foundation will enjoy from the club.


“Last Rotary Year, we added this school to our list of schools that usually benefits from our club literacy projects and that was why we gave them white board to aid teaching last Rotary Year and now we have come to give Queen Primers to their young pupils. With this, their learning pattern will definitely improve and we are happy about that”, Rotaractor Olajumoke said.


Furthermore, she spoke on the club forth coming donation of research materials to community library in Alagbado which will be executed the following month . “We will not stop until our community is a better place for all. As I speak to you, all arrangement is almost set towards donation of research materials to a library in this community and that is being facilitated by one of the councilors in Ojokoro Legislative Arm but I am not letting the cat out of the bag now”, she said.


“Let me also use this medium to call on youths within the age of 18 and 30 to be part of our charitable organization as we meet every 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month at Classic Arena, Benefactor Street, Bakery Bus Stop along AIT Road in Alagbado by 3:00pm prompt. “It is time we start thinking of what we do for our country and not what we can get from Nigeria”, she concluded.


The Assistant Head Teacher Mrs. Adebiyi Bolanle who received members of Rotaract Club of Alagbado appreciated the club for their kind gesture and called on youths to be part of Rotaract so as to impact lives and contributed their own quota to the development of Nigeria at large.
