The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani (H.I.D), has promised residents in the LCDA of the safety of their lives and properties as well as protection against miscreants who have become security threats in their various communities.
He said this during his visit to Fagba Area where he had invited the Lagos State Task Force to restore peace and order as a result of security challenges in the community.
Hon. Tijani has begun the process of ensuring synergy between the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC), the Lagos State government and authorities of Ojokoro LCDA, to bring about sustainability, as the shanties in the area serve as hideouts for hoodlums.
In a related development, the Chairman has given a twenty-four hours ultimatum for the removal of all illegal structures around the rail line, as the government will apply the rule of law against anyone that fails to comply with the order.
“This will be the fourth time the Task Force Officials will work here, but the miscreants and shanties usually return after each operation, this time we will see to it squarely,” he said.
The Council Chief commended the Task Force Officials for their efforts to get rid of hoodlums and removal of shanties at Fagba community and keep the area safe.
It would be recalled that several shops and stalls were looted and set ablaze at Fagba community, by hoodlums who hijacked the recent nationwide #EndSARS protest in the area.
