Son kidnaps father in Ibadan

Ibrahim Aliyu Babatunde 20 admitted that he plotted the abduction of his father Alhaji Aliyu Babatunde at the police command headquarters in Eleyeile in Ibadan after being paraded on Saturday with Aura Sands , Amuda Yusufu and Salihu Babuga who were  20, 19 and 20 years respectively.

Ibrahim confesses how he was lured to the act due to his father’s attitude to welfare of himself and siblings. The victim, Alhaji Aliyu Babatunde, was abducted at his Igboora home town at gunpoint and was released after three days from the kidnappers’ den after the family paid N1 million ransom to the kidnap gang.

The commissioner of police said: “The victim was eventually taken to an unknown place where he was kept for some days by his abductors who later demanded ransom as a condition for his release. One of the suspects was arrested with support of the local vigilante group and police investigations lead to the other members of the gang and the kingpin from their hideouts.

Ibrahim Aliyu said, “We are many. My father married many wives and he doesn’t care for us. We are left by my father to fend for ourselves.  So, I think the only way to get money out of him is to organise for his abduction and force him to part with the money.” He added that he invited his friends to abduct his father for the purpose of ripping him off.
