Tribunal upholds Tinubu’s victory: Lagos Mainland council boss hails, celebrates, congratulates
The tribunal sitting on the petition filled against the emergence of the Lagos Central Senator, Senator Oluremi Tinubu (OON) at the just concluded 2019 poll by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate Hon. Onitiri Sunmbo has dismissed all charges and electoral allegations levied against the All Progressive Congress candidate and says charges lacks merit and consequently dismissed.
Speaking with GOVTOROS after the verdict, the Chairman of All Local Government and Local Council Chairmen in Lagos state, Mrs. Omolola Essien and the council boss for Lagos Mainland Local Government Area, expressed absolute warmness and happiness as she felicitate with Senator Oluremi on the victory at the tribunal.
She described, the earlier petition as a tool to slow down the developmental strides and several democratic benefits being enjoyed by the constituents. “Having won the election clearly, I do not expect such move by any party because this is just one of the tool to slow down the developments and dividend of democracy being enjoyed in this constituency”, Mrs. Omolola said.
Lagos Mainland council boss in same development conveyed her hearty congratulations to the Lagos Central Senator, Senator Oluremi Tinubu (OON) on her victory at the National Assembly’s Election Petitions tribunal sitting on Monday saying, ” the verdict affirmed Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s (OON) victory as the winner of the Lagos Central Senatorial District election held on the 23rd of February 2019. It is indeed a victory for all lovers of true democracy and indeed the good people of Lagos Central Senatorial district. This is a litmus test for our nascent democracy”, she said.
She further appreciated The Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC), security operatives ànd all stakeholders for the success recorded. ” I also want to appreciate the INEC officials, security agencies and all those that ensured peace and orderliness towards the success of the historic election. Nigerians are showing we are coming of age and the stage is gradually looking brighter for future elections”.
