Oyo State Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Seyi Makinde has approved the dismissal of his Special Assistant (New Media), Mr. Muritala Olajide Adigun.
This message was conveyed in a letter by the Secretary to the State Government dated 27th March 2020.
In the letter, the Secretary, Olabiwonu Adeosun on behalf of the governor, Mr. Seyi Makinde convey the appreciation of the government to the formal media aid as his contributions to the administration is a meaningful one as read in the letter.
Although there are unconfirmed speculations that the dismissal was as a result of whitewashing gone malodorous of Mr. Adigun who allegedly packaged a piece of news said to be fake for the state as being ready for the worldwide pandemic coronavirus which has started heating up Nigeria.
According to digital messages and online news, the former Special Adviser to the Governor published a story saying Oyo State has acquired facilities and pieces of equipment to combat the pandemic.
It was also gathered that the said published fumigating machines shown in the story were acquired by the Lagos State government to fumigate the state against Lassa Fever which is now serving the state for fumigation of the street on coronavirus as it is seen across Lagos State.
